Auto Insurance for LEO?
I was wondering if there are any Auto Insurance places that cater, or just offer good rates, for members of Public Safety Departments? I figure there would be, but I haven't heard much. A friend suggested California Casualty, so I'm looking into them, but would also like to hear offer ideas.
Thanks!

Check with your union, they may have a group rate with a particular insurance company. That is common at many businesses. Also check the rates and coverage - you may be able to get higher coverage or lower rates at a different insurance company without a 'discount' program. Some will give a discount if you provide a certificate of your defensive driving training, etc.

Check this site out, found it on the union website:
https://www.copcoverage.com/index2.htm
Also if you belong to Costco they offer insurance thru Amex Assurance, both car and house have decent rates.
Definitely call around for quotes, policy rates vary amongst insurers.

Another often overlooked good deal is AAA.
My wife works there, so we get the service for free. However, if you are a paying member you have access to their in house insurance provider, and they have saved me consistently 40% on my insurance bills.
They also have taken care of me well for two claims, home and auto.

I hate Allstate. I used to have them and they're great until you have a claim. They paid it, but it took a dozen or more phone calls than it should have. A few years ago, I got rearended by an Allstate client. Same thing, I had to go through his agent to file my claim and that guy was a complete asshole. Every other insurance company, you just call the claim dept., not screw with an agent who couldn't care less about you unless your his client.
The only one possibly worse is Snake Farm. My Dad had them for years. One claim where he was at fault and they dropped him.
I've had good luck with Hartford, GEICO and Nationwide, especially where it came to claims. I only had a few minor ones, but they were great. One phone call and everything was handled. Now I have AIG, which is about as cheap as I could find. Their customer service is rated pretty high too.

State Farm (if you have that in your area) offers a law enforcement discount.

Every insurance carrier I had when I was still in LE offered a discount. All you need to do is provide them a copy of an EVOC certification.

I appreciate all of the help guys! I haven't had any time to do research and get quotes, so for now, I just separated myself from my parent's policy, and got my own policy by the same insurer (A local Farmer's guy). I'm actually fine with this, as they have been extremely good to us in the past. They gave me an 8% discount per car.

I have no loyality to any insurance company. Every year I shop around. My homeowners is due just before the auto insurance so I check both since most companies give a discount if you give them both policies. But shopping around, I generally change about every three years or so and save a few hundred bucks. Other than Allstate, I've found most give about the same good service.
But I haven't found loyality to mean shit. My Dad had Snake Farm for 15 years, one wreck and they jacked up his insurance out of sight. Obviously to get rid of him. And I really don't care about local agents. With the Internet and 800 numbers, I can get answers and assistance just as fast and good as I could when I had an agent. All an agent did was get a commission.

I know in Georgia once you show your Insurance company your EVOC certification they are required to give you a 10% discount.

I have used California Casualty (aka A+). I have had them for years through our state police asso membership. I have been told they only insure public employees. I have yet to find a better deal through the main stream companies.
