Belker. The first season of Hill Street Blues was the most authentic police show I ever saw. After that, it became a silly soap opera. I quit watching when I saw the defense lawyer/ captain's girl friend rip a report out of a detective's typewriter. One, they'd never be allowed to walk around our floor unescorted and two, she would have been french kissing the linoleum if she'd done that to me. But I could relate just about everyone on that show the first season to somebody I worked around, especially Lt. Hunter. We had a Lt just as goofy as he was..... Renko was probably more like the everyday cops I knew. And I knew a lot of vice cops like J.D. LaRue.

I never saw a suspect interview on Law and Order or NYPD Blue that would hold up in court. Anyone else ever see an interview where the defendant's lawyer actually let them talk to the cops?

I've known some old guys like Sgt Fish. Know a hell of a lot, but now are into "economy of action"....

Unfortunately, I've known some Barney Fife's too.

Don't knock Fife. That is just who I project to get into cars.

Sipowicz - as an LEO - but only because I relate to someone like him every day, not because he is like me.

Personally, I liked Crockett.

Sipowicz always seemed closer to a real cop than most to me.

Gotta be Andy Sipowicz in a lot more ways than one.

Here's classic Andy:

Quote:
Katie Sipowicz: He could use God's help now.

Andy Sipowicz: Short term he oughtta settle for getting his head out of his ass

ok......I picked Vic, but not because I'm a bad cop who is on the take and kills his coworkers......We have the same hairstyle, and we dress alike. Plus, when he was doing police work, he did it with gusto and didn't take any crap. Honest guys, I'm not really like him. We just look alike. I swear!

And if there was that choice, which one would Captain America say he was more like, since they were his FTO's.

That sure was a short lived show. Why did it get canceled so soon?
