I voted hilarious. With that said, is it real? If so, he missed his calling in life. The task force I'm on is small and a close knit group. We usually keep our car radios on an obscure channel, and our portables on the zone channel. We talk from car to car, play music through it, etc...., well, you get the picture. One of the guys put the mike up to the radio when Fergie was doing "boom boom pow", and dared my partner to stop and dance. Bet him dinner. Wrong thing to bet Doug. He pulled over in the middle of a six lane enter section and hit some moves John Travolta never could. And in full tac gear.

He's either gonna become road pizza or cause it because people either can't figure out what he'd trying to signal -- or because his dance step calls for something that'll bring two opposing lanes together!
I don't have a problem with a guy on traffic duty having a little fun... but not compromising their job!

I think it's hilarious but also a little dangerous if drivers can't understand what he's instructing them to do.

I've seen this guy a couple times before. He's been doing that for years.

The only part that concerns me is when he goes low on his knees. Some knucklehead drivers may not be able to see him or understand who he is giving the right of way to. I also worry that if shit hits the fan while he is low , he won't be able to get out the way like he could if he was on his feet and that injuries would be worse due to him being low to the ground. I like his spirit and that he is having fun getting the job done. If he just stayed on his feet around traffic I would be alright with it entirely.

Although I do find it a little funny, I also think it's dangerous and unprofessional. I like having a little fun while at work, too, but not in front of public eyes...

There was a video a very long time ago about another cop who did that in NYC I think it was. It may have been on the old Candid Camera series or some other show.

I think it is very funny but.....
Very dangerous for him to be doing this. Not only does he put himself in harms way, but it could also be confusing for the motorist. His signals are not what we are used to. If an accident occurs I could see someone trying to sue the officer because they were confused.

That's got to be hell on his shoes. If I worked near that corner, I'd want to shove that whistle where he couldn't blow it anymore - at least not without getting creative. That said, some of his signals were confusing as hell and I'm surprised he hasn't been hit yet. But then I suppose that all 200 people who live in RI are probably familiar with him and his antics.

Heck, I'm surprised someone hasn't TRIED to wreck on purpose when going by him just so they could sue (claiming that his signals were not clear and that they did what they thought he was TELLING them to do) and get a new ride and more! hehehe It would probably work. This video could be Exhibit A.
