Sarah Palin to resign from Alaska governor seat

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has announced she's resigning from her job and plans to step down by the end of the month, CBS News affiliate KTVA is reporting.

Gov. Palin, who ran for the White House vice president seat on a Republican ticket with presidential nominee John McCain, made the announcement in a press conference Friday.
Palin said she will transfer power to Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell. Parnell will be sworn in during an event on July 25th.

Palin did not answer questions from the press, KTVA reports.

And insider reports are stating she is all done with politics. Her resignation speech definitely seems to indicate that.

I can't blame her for getting out, if it's true. What she went through thanks to the extreme liberal machine was uneblievable. They're still blasting her, right up until this very moment....as MSNBC states her resignation speech was a "disaster," and she's not displaying conservative values because she's not sticking it out. WTF would they know about conservative values.

Huge surprise - I hope she has a good reason for this besides family and pressure from frivolous ethics charges, if she expects to stay in politics. Otherwise she will get creamed for being a "quitter".

If she really is just "fed up", then it's probably good that she didn't get elected Vice President, as painful as it is to say that. Certainly she has reason to be fed up because of the sleezeballs who drug her kids into it, even her Downs Syndrome baby - But it's wrong to hand those low-lifes this victory. I would have hoped that she would be more defiant than that.

I'm HOPING that she has something up her sleeve, such as a talk show or an appointment to some national position in the GOP or something, but I'm afraid that she really is just "fed up".

Well, a lot of the political strategists are saying she's getting ready to run for POTUS in 2012. It would certainly indicate that considering you need a lot of time to prepare and whatnot...

She's giving the opposition a lot of ammunition by quitting, though - Remember how Ross Perot's approval rating went down to the single digits after he quit unexpectedly and then got back into the race.

She may be gambling that by 2012 everyone will have forgotten about it, but that's not gonna happen because Obama is sure to beat her over the head with it every chance he gets.

I can hear it now: "If Palin can't even finish her term out in Alaska, how can you expect her to finish her term as President, where she will be under a lot more pressure and personal attacks than as Governor of Alaska? Is she going to abandon her country for family again, when we need her the most? Will she buckle when foreign governments criticise her, or threaten her, or just say bad things about her kids?".

It will not be pretty, because even her supporters will be asking that question.

its so fucked up, cause she probably had a pretty comfortable life with a nice little niche cut out for up there in alaska. and its gone to hell. id be fucking soured too after all the bullshit. i wish her well.

Need a candidate who will tell off the media, on camera. The talking faces have only to decide how to slander a conservative, before, during, or after the station break. It's a risk, but the 'no-risk' GOP presence has been "bend over and say thank you".

Many of the morning network faces have never been confronted live on camera; have been called liars or called biased on live feed. They willl interrupt and shout and call names; then will that conservative ever get up and walk off?

The media needs to be discredited and deceit made public. A few have been caught in outright lies, yet there was no follow-up; like it never happened. We need to drag their dirty laundry into fresh air and sunlight.

Play by their rules? Well, tell that to anyone under attack by a ruthless deceitful enemy. Their arrogance; use it and turn it back on them.

Rush Limbaugh is a showman, not the type to quietly tear into the liberals, and spring the traps.
