Man arrested after using his "Geek Squad' employee badge to impersonate a state police officer and allegedly coerce a woman into sexual acts
PARSIPPANY - A 25-year-old Newark man was arrested Thursday after allegedly using his "Geek Squad' employee badge to impersonate a state police officer and allegedly coerce a woman into sexual acts, Parsippany police said today.
The incident unfolded at 5:35 p.m. at the Days Inn on Route 46, Officer Earl Kinsey said.
The alleged victim told police that she had agreed to meet the suspect -- Jay Mora, 25, of Newark -- at the hotel to "engage in a sex-for-money transaction,'' according to the police report.
While in a room together, Mora allegedly passed off his Geek Squad ID as a state police badge and told the woman he would release her without arrest if she agreed to have sex with him, police said.
After they engaged in sexual acts, the suspect allegedly refused to leave the room, police said.
The victim contacted a relative on her cell phone, who then contacted police.
Upon arriving at the hotel, the victim pointed out the suspect, police said.
Mora was arrested and charged with sexual assault and impersonating a police officer, police said. He was being held in the county jail on $75,000 bond.

Give him a break, that's probably the only way he can ever have sex!

OK, wait...so how come they didn't also charge him with "Theft of Services"? Sounds like she was a pro in the first place. AND, on the other hand, why wouldn't they charge HER with soliciting? Not saying he shouldn't get his ass crammed in a cell, but also saying women aren't always the innocent victims they portray themselves to be.

On a side note, The California Highway Patrol has given that company a lot of grief over their paint scheme. Might have been ok had Geek Squad stayed with the VW since it is highly unlikely that those cars would be used as a police car. When they chose to start using SUV's and vans, thats when a line had to be drawn. It is my understanding that all of their cars in CA now have to be painted solid black. Or maybe the CHP doesn't like other companies using the Black and White paint scheme and there may be a law against it. We do seem to have a lot of police agencies that use black and whites here so it could be an impersonation issue.

I googled geek squad badge for images and seen some pretty realistic geek squad badges, of course they would only fool a blonde, but anyone else would laugh at it.

The California Vehicle Code specifically prohibits a black and white paint scheme unless its for a LE agency

Maybe he hotglued a glow stick to the roof, and used to scotch tape to fix a penlight to the side mirror?
