Question Happy Digital TV Transition Day

Today a landmark event in broadcast is happening....would have happened...might be happening later in the day, or may happen sometime in June.

The delay sure did bring clarity to what was previously a confusing topic

What's happening where you are? I won't be sure until I try the TV tonight.

Nothing happened here. Only one of our TV's isn't on satellite, the little one my wife watches while she gets ready in the morning. I hooked up the converter for it last night and it still only picks up the one station in the area that's been broadcasting in both analog and digital. No other stations have turned on their digital. I disconnected it and put it back in the box until June, I guess.

I was wondering.....Since the original bill about digital transition said all broadcast HAVE TO be digital by today, I would think most everyone broadcasting is ready to broadcast in digital now. I wonder if any stations will go all digital now since they are ready to, despite it not being mandatory now until June? Does it cost more to broadcast both ways? It doesn't matter to me because I have either cable or satellite.

The local's here are saying they will go ahead and go digital. When the date got pushed back congress said the have to switch by then, but they can switch before then.

I've got my converter already setup for a month or two now. Been working fine. I did lose one channel because of a weak signal though. (PBS)

It costs more to run both. They have to maintain all the analog equipment along with the digital. My hope is they all just go digital anyway.

I'm not affected by any of this. Our local channel was planning on making the switch today but they had to many complaints by people who were not ready so they pushed it back to June as well.
